Playback, content sync, and live streaming stay on your LAN. Periodic internet access is still required for licensing, revocation checks, and software updates.

Common questions

Core publishing and media sync run on the local network. Cached content can continue during an authorized, time-bounded offline grace period; internet access remains necessary for licensing, revocation checks, and software updates.

Use devices listed in the current LANCast qualified hardware matrix. Certification confirms kiosk provisioning, boot behavior, storage, codec support, and sustained playback for that model.

The number of managed screens depends on your license tier. Licenses are issued per server installation and define a maximum device count. Contact us to discuss the right tier for your deployment size.

Yes. The web dashboard requires a username and secure password hash. All device sessions use short-lived signed tokens. Device approval is required before any Android client can receive content. All communication stays on your local network.

The LANCast Capture Agent runs on the server PC and uses Windows Graphics Capture to record your screen, hardware-encodes it to H.264, and streams it via RTSP to all connected devices in real time. Latency is extremely low and optimized on local networks.
